Winter Scene

Have you gotten much snow where you live? We haven't gotten much at all though my kids are so hoping for some this winter :) I wanted to create a watercolored background and use the beautiful F459 Dotted Winter Tree from Great Impressions to make a winter scene.

I started by watercoloring my background using my Tombow markers. I like to lay down my color from my pen onto my craft mat and then pick up the color with a wet brush. I layered on the colors until I was happy with it and then finished it by getting my brush wet with clean water and tapping to create the water droplets. This gives such a pretty splattered look and in this case represents snow. I then heat set my paper and stamped my trees in Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Friday Fun with Katy

Hello!

Katy here today.  I hope that you had a wonderful Holiday!  It is always strange to think there are only a few more days of 2014.

I'm not quite ready to set goals (there's still Christmas leftovers in the fridge) but I am enjoying on reflecting back on my projects with Great Impressions.  And I decided that I should share my favorite project and card with all of you.  :) (Which was not easy task to choose my friends!)

My favorite project is the vintage Christmas ornament.  I love this this stamp G512 Winter Snowflake.  It works so nicely here with the gold embossing powder.

For my favorite card I chose the pop up card from Halloween.  I love Great Impressions Halloween stamps.  This was a lot of fun to make!

For this pop up card I used Great Impressions Stamps:

Thank you for taking this walk down memory lane with me! :)  This is my last post for Great Impressions.  I have been blessed to work with this wonderful company and the wonderful ladies who make Great Impressions so special.  And thank you for stopping by!  Lots of hugs and love! :)

Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, friends!  On behalf of all of us at Great Impressions, we hope your day is amazing and filled with lots of fun, joy, and love!  I'm here to share a card I made using some beautiful products from Great Impressions. Take a peek...

More details and a Christmas slideshow on my personal blog HERE.

I started this card by stamping G22 Pine Cone Bough twice onto some white card stock.  I stamped them opposite ways to create a semi frame.  I then decided to do just some selective coloring and color the berries with a red glitter pen.  It looked elegant and so I stopped there! ;)

I then stamped E250 Warmth & Love onto another piece of white card stock and cut it to fit onto a red scalloped card stock mat.  Some black liquid pearls added a bit of shine and elegance and I used dimensional foam to add this portion to the card.

That was it!  A super quick and easy card, but I think it turned out very elegantly and can be mailed easily.  It actually already was! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my creation!  Hop over to come play along with our monthly challenge, too!  If you use stamps from Great Impressions, you'll be able to link up your creation in our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and MERRY Christmas, and MERRY stamping to you all!  See you again soon!

Love this adorable stamp: E624 Santa's Little Helper from Great Impressions.
I'm giving this card to Baxter and Cooper's Dog Groomers. They will love it.
I embossed the stamp with kraft embossing ink and clear powder.
Then I colored the image with Distress Markers.
I added some twine and a button.
The sentiment A117 Merry Hello tops off the card.

Victorian Lady

Hello stamping friends. Today I have a very feminine card for you using a beautiful image from Great Impressions called (H195) Victorian Lady.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and used my Tombow markers to watercolor her. I love how many layers of colors you can get using watercolors and the softness it gives the image. I then added some dry embossing and a few layers of paper, some Distress inking and stitching.

Tag Into Card + Guess the Carol Winners!

Hi, all!  Before we get started, I need to share with you the results of our "GUESS THE CAROL" week!  Nobody got all of the carols--Ellen stumped you all!  Her carol was "White Christmas" and nobody got that. :)  Nobody got 5/6 either.  There were, however, 5 people who got 4 carols correct and so I put their names in a list and numbered them and then used Random.org to choose a winner.

Here was that list~
#1 Sunshine Honeybee
#2 sammi
#3 snazzyjj
#4 ionabunny
#5 KT Fit Kitty

Random.org chose...

Congratulations, sammi!  Email me at onastampageATyahooDOTcom
and I will get you your voucher for winning our game!

Well, the holidays are a super busy time for me and you, as well, I'm sure, so I decided to be a bit lazy with this week's project and show you how I made THIS TAG into a card!  I don't really do tags very much, that may change in the future, and I didn't wan this one to go to waste, so I decided I'd turn it into a card so I could share it with someone this holiday season!  It uses some beautiful stamps from the Great Impressions store, so it deserves a second wind, I think!  Come and take a peek!

More on my personal blog HERE.

I love the way this image, H190 Vintage Holly Branches, looks embossed in gold and water colored.  I added some glossy accents to the berries to give them a little more shine, too.  A few rhinestones, a button, and some twine, add more holiday colors to the card.

The sentiment, C427 Seasons Greetings, was also heat embossed in gold, but this time onto some red cardstock.  I decided to cut it as a strip to "anchor" the tag a bit.

The tag was then added to a piece of white cardstock with a dry embossed frame and then added to a card.  The white on white is perfect for highlighting this beautifully colored image, don't you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my creation!  Hop over to come play along with our monthly challenge, too!  If you use stamps from Great Impressions, you'll be able to link up your creation in our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Wonderful Wednesday with Joni

Today I have a gorgeous H262 Winter Wreath stamp by Great Impressions.
I stamped it with Versamark onto a dark green cardstock. Then I gold embossed it.
I added red sequins.
It actually dangles on the card.
I stamped the sentiment F852 Happy Holidays also embossed in gold.

Snowflake

Hello! Today I have a card to share with you that uses a beautiful image from the Great Impressions shop called (G512) Winter Snowflake

I first embossed the snowflake in white onto kraft paper and selectively inked the "peace" from the (D489) Love and Joy sentiment. For my background I used the same snowflake stamping it first in the aqua ink in each corner and then in the dark red ink to fill the gaps.

Inspiration Saturday with Ellen

Hello to all of my Great Impressions friends! Welcome back for more inspiration from the Great Impressions store!

Today is the second Saturday of December! Santa will be here before we know it! Our Great Impressions December Challenge is underway. Our theme is ANYTHING WITH A GREAT IMPRESSIONS IMAGE GOES!

(A2: Stamps: Great Impressions Stamps (Holly Winter Scene  - G352);  Cut files: Silhouette Studio)

My GI image is Holly Winter Scene – G352. I just love coloring this one! After the ink was dry, I covered the circle with Crystal Effects to give it the appearance of a little snow globe. I matted the image with a cut file from Silhouette Studio. It has Merry Christmas at the top and a loopy little border at the bottom.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a bit of inspiration from Great Impressions. Please stop by my blog to leave a little love!

Friday Fun with Blue and Silver

Hello!

Katy here and today I am loving blue and silver and Christmas.  The more sparkle the better.  :)  And I love the newest K100 Christmas Gracie stamp!  I hope you will too!

The sentiment is C427 Season's Greetings.  I used embossing powder for the sentiment and then dabbed ink over it to create a resist.  Gracie's dress was done by using a water color technique with a marker.  And there must be glitter and shimmer! :)

Make sure you stop by the Great Impressions Store for you holiday shopping!  Orders in the U.S. over $25 ship free!

Spotlight Sponging Card + Tutorial

Hello, all!  We're getting closer to the holidays, and today I have a card with a fun technique that is sure to WOW--but still be easily mailed!  I've use products from the Great Impressions store and I've also made a video tutorial on how to create this technique that I'm calling SPOTLIGHT SPONGING.  Come take a peek at my card!

To create this card, I started by stamping D470 Bird Trio onto some white cardstock.  I then did a little magic with the SPOTLIGHT SPONGING technique (movie below) and added some glitter and alcohol coloring to finish this portion off.

The card needed a sentiment, so I grabbed C427 Seasons Greetings and heat embossed it onto some red cardstock.  I decided to punch it out like a banner and add a few rhinestones for a bit more shine.

Then all that needed to happen was to put it all together.  I used a few foam dimension pieces to pop portions of the card up and I love the effect!  What do you think of my card?  I'd love for you to leave me some comments below and let me know!  You can see more detailed shots on my personal blog HERE, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my creation!  Hop over to come play along with our monthly challenge, too!  If you use stamps from Great Impressions, you'll be able to link up your creation in our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Watercolored Christmas

Hello stamping friends! Today I have a Christmas card to share with you that uses heat embossing and watercolor. I used the gorgeous Great Impressions image (G408) December Holly and Narcissus

I started by heat embossing my image in white and then watercoloring it using Tombow markers. For my sentiment I heat embossed it in gold using (E739) Old World Merry Christmas

Be sure to join us in this month's challenge (click!) and if you use any GI stamps be sure to link up to the customer gallery (click!). Be sure to stop by the Great Impressions store (click!) and maybe treat yourself to a few new images...did you know shipping is free over $25?!
