Inspiration Day with Carolyn

Hi peeps, today I am going to share a "quickie" tag. I was thinking about crafting this holiday weekend and wanted to go to my studio but I didn't want to spend too long away from our 80 degree weather.

I decided to create a book tag/bookmark.  The stamps I used are called Special Moments E495 and Rooster Weathervane F422. I used black ink on kraft paper and selected small sections to color. I added a ribbon and was good to go. Hope you have a fab week and don't forget to stop by the Great Impressions Pinterest and Facebook pages for more inspiration and join in on the fun.

Join in on our current challenge which is the first Sunday of the month.

Just Because

Happy Monday Great Impressions Stamp Friends!

Kendra from Luv 2 Scrap 'n Make Cards here today to share a card with you!

I love the color scheme I used for the card:
I used the large Just Because E654 sentiment for this card!
A great font for anyone special!

I also used the new Dotted Leaves D482 for behind my Scalloped Flower C448!
The two stamps work so well together!!

I stamped my Scalloped Flower C448 three times and cut out each one at different sizes, so that I could make it 3D!

So fun!!

Guest Designer: Leah Cornelius: Half Wreath

Hello! Well, I can't believe this is my last week for my guest design spot for Great Impressions. It's been wonderful working with their stamps and I'm sad this is my last post. But I really love how this card came out so let me show it to you!

I had so much fun pulling all my elements together for this card! I started by stamping all my flower pieces on white cardstock and coloring them with Copics. The large rose and little yellow flowers come from the Flower Bouquet (J110) set. My other roses are the single Rose Bud (A146) stamp stamped and colored several times and then all trimmed out. I die cut various leaves and stacked my sentiment banners to create a sweet greeting using Tags (G483). For my finishing touches I used a fine tip black pen and ruler to create my frame, added a light blue wash using watercolors and a sprinkling of sequins. I do hope you enjoy this card and thank you to Deone for inviting me to be this month's guest designer. I enjoyed it so much! Have a wonderful day :)

Wonderful Wednesday with Joni

Today I got to color this adorable image from Great Impressions! G500 Shoe Collection.
I was in a yellow and grey mood so I didn't use many colors!
However, I think every woman would agree with this fabulous sentiment E836 EveryColor.
I used some dies to cut out the focal image and create my layout!

Painter's Tape Technique

Happy Monday Great Impressions Stamp Friends!

Kendra from Luv 2 Scrap 'n Make Cards here today to share a fun technique with you!!
I am so excited!!

Have you tried the Painter's Tape Technique?
I think it is so fun and has a nice finished result!

Start by gathering your supplies:
Painter's Tape
Inks
Card Base Layer (Mine is 5 1/4" x 4")
Stamp (I am using Seeded Dandelions (G298))

Rip off a few pieces of painter's tape to the length you would like.
For my card today, each piece was around the same size.

Next place the painter's tape on the ink pad you are going to use first, sticky side on ink pad.
Press your fingers across tape gently to ink it up!

The tape will look something like this:

Now you are ready to press the piece of tape onto your cardstock piece:

A look at the first "stamped" tape:

And a look at all the stamped "tape" before I stamped my image:

Now you can stamp your image!
I used black so that it would really pop off the colored stamped tape!
(Sorry I forgot to take a pic of this step!)

My finished card:
What a fun technique!!

The "Enjoy the Day" tag is part of the Tags Rubber Stamp (G483) set!

Guest Designer: Leah Cornelius: Spring Bird

Hello! I am back with another card using some Great Impressions stamps. Today I have a pretty birthday card to share!

For my main image I chose to use the very pretty Bird in Roses (F517).  I colored the image with Copics on a fancy frame. For the matting beneath my bird image I flanked each side using the Queen Ann Lace (E807) image in light blue. My sentiment comes from the Tags (G483) set that I trimmed out. I added some sewing machine stitching, leaves and rolled roses with the final touch of some pearls. I hope you like it! Have a wonderful day!

INSPIRATION SATURDAY WITH ELLEN

Hello sweet Great Impressions friends! Welcome back for more inspiration from Great Impressions. This is Ellen again and it is the third  Saturday in May so there is still time for you to join in with our challenge! Here is a little inspiration to get you going:

This is a very simple card to make. I just stamped the flowers and, since the sentiment is bigger than what I needed for this card, I masked the bottom and just used the top part.  I colored the image with Copics, cut the panel to the size I wanted and mounted on blue card stock. I then dry embossed some white card stock and mounted on more of the blue. I adhered all of the pieces to a white card blank.

Serena in the Sea

Today I am sharing another under the sea scene using a different mermaid, G334 Serena with Her Pearl. I have also used E649 A School of Fish and E588 Seaside Shells.

This time I used white to set off the scene.  This really highlights Serena who was colored with colored pencils and then heavily Stickled.  The mat beneath the scene is made with a bubble embossing folder then I added color with pencils and distress ink and each of the bubbles has been filled in with Crystal Stickles.   To make sure that my mermaid was the central focus I added gold Stickle frames to her scene and the first mat.  Finally for the finishing touch some punched sea horses were added to bring in more dimension.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Spring with GDT Leah Cornelius!

Hi, friends!  It's Mynn here to introduce you to the designer we are having as a guest here at Great Impressions for the month of May!  It's the very talented Leah Cornelius of Paper Blossoms!  We are so excited to have her, you've seen one of her cards last week for our monthly challenge, and she's back again today!  Let's see what she's got for us, shall we?

Hello! I'm excited to share some more Great Impressions projects with you today! First up I have a simple but elegant set of note cards to share with you.

I started by cutting mats using a Spellbinders die and stamping the beautiful Butterfly Frame (H226)  in Memento ink so I could color each one with Copics. I changed up the colors for each one and for my sentiments I used the Tags (G483)  set and selectively inked just the sentiment leaving off the banner outline.

I didn't want to add lots of embellishing so I dry embossed the card base, added some distress ink to the frames and now have a pretty set of cards ready to give away.

For my next project I inked up the adorable Teddy With Flowers (F554) and made a tag set. I colored these with Copics and again used the Tags (G483) set for my sentiments. Wouldn't these look sweet on a gift? I hope you've enjoyed my projects today! Have a beautiful, creative day!

INSPIRATION SATURDAY WITH ELLEN

Hello sweet Great Impressions friends!  This is Ellen from In a World of Craft with a bit of inspiration from the Great Impressions store. Today is the second Saturday in May so you have plenty of time to join in with our current challenge.  Here is a little inspiration to get you going!

I  love this sweet little girl image and had so much fun coloring her with my Copics. This is another card that will go to Operation Write Home, so I could see a soldier sending this home to a little girl. What do you think? The butterfly is a little plastic embellishment from my old stash. I don’t remember where it came from.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a bit of inspiration from Great Impressions. Be sure to check out the current monthly challenge and don’t forget to link your GI creations at our CUSTOMER GALLERY!

Mermaid Meditation

This Friday I am pleased to share another underwater card with you; a gorgeous mermaid in an underwater scene.  I created this card using  using 4 different Great Impression stamps E588 Seaside Shells for my ocean floor, H181 Seaweed, E649 A School of Fish, and H182 Rachel in the Sea.

To begin to create this scene I stamped H182 Rachel in the Sea first onto my plain white card stock.  Next I stamped her again on a post-it note and used that as a mask.  Next I stamped H181 Seaweed over and partially beside her.  The post-it note allowed the seaweed to look like it was growing behind my mermaid and for her hair to appear to be floating in with it.  Leaving the mask in place, I next stamped E588 Seaside Shells across the bottom of the scene and over the mermaid.  The last thing I stamped was E649 A School of Fish twice going off the edge of the paper.

I colored my scene using colored pencils and a Gamsol blending technique then die cut it and die cut a frame in metallic copper paper to mount it on.  I finished off the scene by distressing the edges in blue ink and then added lots of different colored Stickles.

After finishing the main portion of the card, I was trying to decide what to mat it with and decided that the best thing would be to create more ocean background so I stamped more E649 School of Fish all over my mat and then H181 Seaweed and colored those as well.  I think it gives the card a finished look and I love how the ocean seems to continue around the focal image.
